  • Leading the educational, creative and prosperous development of Maroondah

Maroondah City Council's new library, cultural, knowledge and innovation centre opened on Thursday 29 October 2015.

The state-of-the-art facility will lead the educational, creative and prosperous development of Maroondah and Melbourne's East region.

The centre is located on Maroondah Highway as the centrepiece of the new Ringwood town square precinct, and will interact with open air gathering spaces, cafés and retail shops.

Realm includes:

  • a library incorporating areas to engage children and young people

  • a comprehensive Council Customer Service Centre, combined with regional information services

  • a designated art gallery combined with exhibition spaces throughout the centre

  • flexible learning spaces for use by groups, schools, universities and learning organisations

  • a café area incorporating reading spaces and a magazine and newspaper collection

  • an interactive local history display

  • a Centre for Regional Knowledge and Innovation, incorporating BizHub one-stop-shop business resource hub

Realm is managed by Maroondah City Council. Council worked in partnership with QIC, owners of Eastland, to develop the centre as part of a $665 million expansion of Eastland.

Realm replaces the temporary Ringwood Library, located at 28 Warrandyte Road Ringwood.

In early 2013, an extensive community consultation process was conducted to find out what services and facilities our community would like to see included in the new Library, Learning and Cultural Centre. Find out more about community consultation for the Ringwood Library, Learning and Cultural Centre
