Eastland Stage 5 Redevelopment

Melbourne’s most progressive and exciting urban shopping, entertainment and leisure destination

The $665 million development is part of QIC GRE’s vision to transform Eastland into one of Melbourne’s most progressive and exciting urban shopping, entertainment and leisure destinations — delivering a world-class retail offer and an authentic Town Centre for Ringwood.

The development is an opportunity to maximise Eastland’s prime location at the epicentre of a superb network of major arterial roads and transport nodes, and transform it into one of Melbourne’s most progressive and exciting urban shopping, entertainment and leisure destinations.

It has been fully master-planned, blending striking architecture and innovative design to create a superior new urban address that will appeal to a burgeoning trade area and draw people from across eastern and outer Melbourne.

Construction works have commenced with the first stage of the landmark development opening in late-2015 and the final stage anticipated to open in mid-2016.

Key features of the Eastland development

The development will increase the size of Eastland by approximately 50% from 79,000 square metres to approximately 127,000 square metres and create a vibrant Town Centre destination where people can enjoy premium shopping, leisure, dining, entertainment and social experiences.

The development will provide an exceptional retail offer that will compel visitors to Eastland and the Town Centre through the introduction of major retailers David Jones and Target, as well as an additional eight mini-majors and approximately 150 new specialty stores featuring iconic national and international brands.

A range of exciting new retailers will elevate Eastland’s existing retail offer to provide customers with access to all national major retailers, including Myer, David Jones, Target, K-Mart, Big W, Coles, Woolworths and Hoyts, as well as more than 350 specialty stores on completion.

The existing Centre will also be significantly enhanced to deliver a seamless retail experience underpinned by premiere design finishes and outstanding service features.

The development also includes an upgrade to existing parking facilities, with the introduction of a sophisticated electronic parking guidance system and in excess of 1,000 new car parks delivering even better access, amenity and convenience to our customers.

The creation of a true Town Centre for Ringwood is a shared vision of QIC GRE, the Victorian Government and Maroondah City Council. A new Ringwood Town Square will set a new standard for quality, service and amenity, featuring exceptional retailing, contemporary al fresco dining incorporating signature restaurants, as well as generous public space for an integrated mix of activities.

Realm, Maroondah City Council's new, fully integrated  library, learning and cultural centre, forms a key element of the Ringwood Town Centre development, with the state-of-the-art community facility incorporating distinctive design, and innovative technology and services.
