Arts and Culture
The arts help us celebrate local culture, and Maroondah City Council is committed to fostering an artistic and cultural environment.
Maroondah City Council has a strong commitment to nurturing, developing and promoting artistic and culturally based experiences throughout the community. We offer a range of events, programs and resources, all of which aim to educate, inspire and engage our local community and beyond.
A keen sense of community connection is key to the success of arts and cultural development. We liaise with, and provide assistance to, local community and art groups, businesses, schools and residents to ensure arts and culture continues to strengthen and develop within the Maroondah community.
There is also a strong focus on supporting local artistic and cultural endeavours through the provision of funding via the Arts and Cultural Grants Scheme. The provision of financial assistance to not-for-profit Maroondah organisations means that a wide range of initiatives can be implemented which, in turn, contributes to Council’s long-term vision.
Our partnerships with the community and business focus on Maroondah’s local identity, its sense of place, a celebration of life and the unique culture of our city.
Quality art and cultural experiences are provided through a range of programs and services, including:
- opportunities to learn about and create art
