Centre for Regional Knowledge and Innovation

Maroondah City Council, in partnership with the Australian Government, is galvanising the creation of Eastern Region jobs through the establishment of a $7.7 million Centre for Regional Knowledge and Innovation.

The Centre for Regional Knowledge and Innovation represents a new, whole-of Melbourne East region approach to skills development, jobs creation, knowledge and innovation to accelerate private sector investment, employment and productivity in high-tech high-value manufacturing and emerging industries. It will adjoin Realm, situated in a 1000sqm extension to the 2100sqm space currently under construction, funded by Council in partnership with Queensland Investment Corporation, owners of Eastland Shopping Centre.

A regional business development model will be the Centre’s focal point, bringing together representation for all levels of government and industry.
